Kaizer Chiefs' misery in the last few years were compounded on Saturday, March 9, when they suffered a painful 3-2 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the 180th Soweto Derby.
The Glamour Boys have not won a trophy in the last nine years, which will likely continue.
Bafana Bafana legend Lucas Radebe has opened up on their struggles and why it is difficult for the fans.
Since winning the 2014/15 PSL title, Amakhosi have not won a single trophy. They will finish the season trophyless this season after missing out on the MTN8, Carling Knockout and the Nedbank Cup.

This season, they are seventh in the PSL with 29 points after 20 matches. The Naturena-based club are 17 points behind reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Their defeat against Pirates was the first time they lost two league games against their rivals in 15 years. That irked the Amakhosi faithful.
Moreover, they've had six coaches in the last six years. Cavin Johnson is coaching the team in a caretaker capacity, and it is unclear if he will continue after this season. He believes he is the man to wend the drought, per the Sowetan Live.
Radebe on Chiefs woes
With Sundowns dominating the league, Amakhosi will need wholesale changes to their team to compete consistently.
Radebe, who played over 250 matches for Leeds United, is worried about Chiefs downfall.
“Having played for the club, knowing how big a brand it is and not having won a trophy for 10 years, it is worrying,” said Radebe via IOL.

Football“It is concerning for such a big club that they have just dropped like this. The fact that they are not in the Nedbank Cup is a big disappointment for the fans and for the club."
The retired central defender is unhappy with what the club has gotten itself to.
“This is what a club strives for – winning trophies and bragging rights. It shows the wrongs that are happening at the club, and there is a lot that is happening that we don’t see, which is a huge problem for me.”
It will take some time for Chiefs to become a dominant force again.
Khumalo blames Johnson
Sports Brief earlier reported on Doctor Khumalo criticising Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson after Amakhosi's defeat in the Soweto Derby.
The South African icon was unhappy with Johnson's in-game management, saying the team failed to control the game despite being ahead twice.
