Dani Alves’ estranged wife, Joana Sanz, appeared to aim a jibe at the former Barcelona star, moments after he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for assault of a sexual nature.
Alves, 40, was found guilty of ‘having his way’ with a woman without consent in the bathroom of a Barcelona nightclub on December 30 2022.
The father of two learnt of his fate after being in remand since his arrest in January last year.
Just moments after Alves’ sentence was confirmed, hawk-eyed fans noticed the Brazilian international’s ex-wife Joana shared a post on her social media.

The Spanish model shared a selfie of herself glowing and bearing a defiant look.
This was one of a series of photos shared by Sanz, with another being a shot of a cup of coffee which she was presumably taking, and some make-up tools.
According to a report on El Español, the lovely lass is in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria for an advertisement shoot.
Joana Sanz testifies against Dani Alves
Earlier in February, Sanza took to the stand where she testified against her ex-husband, claiming he came home “smelling like alcohol” the night he allegedly assaulted the 23-year-old woman.
Sanz also claimed Alves rang her several times on that fateful night.
Alves changed his version of events several times during his trial, something that worked against him.
He eventually admitted to having relations with the alleged victim, but insisted it was consensual.

FootballIn June 2023, Alves also came clean about cheating on his ex-partner Joana during an interview with La Vanguardia from prison.
“The only person I have to apologise to is my wife, Joana Sanz,” he said in the interview.
“I have already apologised to her personally here in prison, but I must do it publicly, because the story is public, the offence is public and she deserves a public apology.”
A look at where Alves will serve his term
Sports Brief also reported on Dani Alves’ possible living conditions for the next five years as he prepares to serve his prison sentence.
The 40-year-old was remanded at the Brians 2 Prison, and he is expected to also serve his term at the same facility, depending on the course the matter will take after his sentencing.
Likened to a 'Hilton' hotel, the facility has some incredible features to ensure the lives of prisoners are comfortable.
