Al-Nassr winger Sadio Mane has returned to the Knights of Najd training after Senegal was knocked out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The former Liverpool star was part of the Teranga Lions' squad that participated in the 34th edition of the biggest football event in Africa.

The Al-Nassr star could not lead the defending champions to the final once again as they were knocked out of the competition by the host nation Ivory Coast in the Round of 16.

Mane scored one goal and provided two assists before the Elephants sent Senegal packing.

In a video shared on social media, the former Bayern Munich forward was seen resuming training with Al-Nassr, and gearing up for their game against Al-Hilal tomorrow (February 8).

In the video shared Mane sent a message to Al-Nassr fans immediately after he arrived at the training ground directly from the airport.

"Hi guys, here is Mane, really excited [to be back], just came back from the airport direct to the training ground, but I enjoyed it, so let's do it again and make sure we are ready and you guys also, see you soon in the stadium," he said.

The Senegalese international has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 12 games in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Nassr, according to a report by Transfermarkt.

Mane declines Al-Nassr coach's day off

Sports Brief earlier reported that Mane ended his vacation in Senegal to rejoin Cristiano Ronaldo and other Al-Nassr teammates in training ahead of the Saudi Pro League resumption.

The Senegalese international declined the extra day off offered to him by Al-Nassr coach Luis Castro.

The former Southampton winger was expected to spend some time with his wife, Aisha Tamba, after having their wedding a few days before the AFCON 2023 started.
