Could Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira face off for a third time in the UFC?
The two rivals have previously squared off twice in the Octagon, with each picking up a win.
With Pereira moving up to Light Heavyweight and Adesanya taking a break from the sport, a chance for the rubber match between the two seemed impossible until now.
The Last Stylebender appeared to have trolled his fans by sharing a promotional poster for the fight on his Instagram page.
Izzy shared a photo which appears to be a poster for UFC 298 in February 2024, which advertised him taking on Pereira for the title. Alexander Volkanovski was also advertised to fight Ilia Topuria on the same night.
As noted by MMA Junkie, Topuria and Volkanovsk is scheduled for UFC 298 for the Featherweight title.
Why Adesanya could fight Pereira
The two rivals are always keen to prove who is better, but being in different weight classes seemingly put an end to that dream. That changed when Pereira called out The Last Stylebender after his last win.
Pereira won the vacant Light Heavyweight title and immediately called out Izzy.
Was Izzy being serious?
Many are questioning whether Adesanya was just trolling them or whether he will be fighting for the title.
As noted by Essentially Sports, Izzy shared a photo of himself and Volkanovski laughing and wrote ‘Sike’ on it.
