FootballKylian Mbappe: Achraf Hakimi Weighs In on Transfer Saga of His PSG Teammate
- Kylian Mbappe's name keeps coming up in transfer news
- The PSG forward has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the last few years
- His PSG teammate, Achraf Hakimi, has spoken about Mbappe's future at the club
The Kylian Mbappe transfer saga is one of the longest-running sagas in world football, and there's no sign that it will end anytime soon.
His Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Achraf Hakimi recently spoke about Mbappe's future, which is still up in the air, saying he wants the France captain to stay at the club.
The Frenchman has been a target for Real Madrid in the last few years, and he was close to joining them in 2022 but opted to sign a new deal with the French giants.
The deal expires in the summer of 2024, meaning he could leave for nothing, something the club is trying to avoid.
The 24-year-old and PSG were involved in a highly publicized contract stand-off in the summer, and it seemed it was only a matter of time before he walked through the exit door.
He was even put up for sale in the summer after being forced to train alone. However, he returned to training before the start of the 2023/24 season, per the Athletic.
Sky Sports reported in August that he was in talks with the club about a new deal, but there has been no news since about him signing a contract extension.
Hakimi on Mbappe's future
Hakimi was recently asked about Mbappe's future and whether his close friend will sign for Real Madrid.
“It’s not my thing,” Hakimi told Spanish media outlet El Desmarque. “That’s for him to decide. He is happy, quite happy and he shows it. Let’s hope he stays with us for much longer.

Football“The truth is that we don’t talk about that. He doesn’t have it in mind. We talk about ourselves, about the present, about Paris, and the truth is we hope to do great things together,” he said, via PSG Talk.
History tells us that if Real Madrid wants to sign you, they will, eventually. So, if Mbappe doesn't sign a new deal, the club could offload him in January.
