For the participating clubs, the rewards on offer have been confirmed, with teams earning R250 000 just for being in the draw.

Each stage has a staggered cash reward, with teams earning a R250 000 participation fee for every appearance.

Falling short in a final is always difficult but the losing finalists will receive R2.6mil in prize money to soften the blow.

The Carling Knockout Cup will begin on Wednesday, just a day after Bafana Bafana's friendly with Ivory Coast in Abidjan.

The first fixture will see TS Galaxy host Mamelodi Sundowns at Mbombela Stadium and on Friday night, Orlando Pirates host Cape Town Spurs at Orlando Stadium.

Saturday has four games including Golden Arrows vs. Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs against Amazulu.

The weekend and last 16 round concludes with Richards Bay vs. Moroka Swallows and Polokwane City travelling to Tshwane to face SuperSport United.
