Neymar bagged a brace in Brazil's 5-1 win over Bolivia in a World Cup qualifying encounter. He went into the match tied with the late Pele on 77 goals but ended the match with 79 goals on his 125th appearance.

The Al-Hilal forward joins Messi and Suarez as the all-time top scorers for their respective countries.

The trio were incredible in the 2024/15 season under Luis Enrique. The Barcelona team of that season also had the duo of Xavi and Andres Iniesta in their ranks.

La Blaugrana won every trophy that season, lifting the La Liga, Copa Del Rey, and Champions League titles through an exciting brand of football. Some believe theirs was one of football's greatest teams.

The trio of Neymar, Messi, and Suarez scored 364 goals between them in the three seasons they played together and won eight trophies as a result, per 90min.

Neymar, Messi and Suarez's milestones

Messi lifted the 2022 World Cup with Argentina, making him arguably the greatest footballer ever to live. The Inter Miami forward was glorious in Qatar. On June 22, 2016, he scored in Argentina's 4-0 win over the USA in the Copa America to become Argentina's all-time top-scorer, passing the great Gabriel Batistuta's mark of 54 goals. Messi has now scored 104 goals for Barcelona in 176 appearances, per Transfermarkt.

Meanwhile, Suarez bagged a brace in Uruguay's 8-0 win over Tahiti in the Confederations Cup in June 2013 to become the country's record goal scorer, passing Diego Forlan. The former Liverpool striker has now scored 68 goals in 137 games for Uruguay.

After his heroics for Brazil, Neymar joins his former teammates as a record goal-scorer for the Samba Boys.

Messi equals Luis Suarez's record

At the same time, the Argentine continued his impeccable form for club and country by scoring a late free kick versus a tough Ecuador.

Sports Brief reported that Messi's goal saw him equal Suarez as the player with the most goals in South America's World Cup qualifiers.
