Cameroon Football Federation president, Samuel Eto'o has extended the tenure of office to seven years renewable for only one term.
The number of years in office was earlier moved from four years to seven years, with the president having the opportunity to contest for three terms in office.
However, the decision has been reversed with the maximum period of time a person can stay as president being 14 years.
This means Eto'o can contest again when his first term ends.
According to CFoot Cameroun, article 37 of the new statutes of FECAFOOT states that the term of office of the executive increases from 4 years to 7 years, renewable once.
It is yet to be known if the legendary Barcelona striker will contest after his first term, following his role in the changes of the statutes.
Newsrand reports Eto'o and his executives amended the period of presidency to allow him extend his stay in office.
Eto'o became President of FECAFOOT in December 2021 and will now end his first term in December 2028.
Arsenal defender Saliba meets Eto'o
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Arsenal defender William Saliba has returned to his roots after visiting Cameroon during his injury recovery.
The France international opted to represent the country of his birth despite his mother hailing from Cameroon.
He is currently in the African country and took the opportunity to visit iconic striker Samuel Eto'o at his FECAFOOT office.
