Manchester Evening News reports that the English forward scored his first after he was set up by fellow substitute Facundo Pellistri.

He completed his brace at stoppage time with a fine finish, thanks to Casemiro's defence-splitting pass.

Rashford breaks Rooney record

ESPN reports that Rashford's brace against the lower-tier side was enough to help him shatter a long-standing Wayne Rooney record.

His two goals now mean that Rashford is the first Manchester United player to score in eight consecutive home games since Rooney back in 2010.

The United academy graduate kicked off his impressive Old Trafford run started on October 27 when he scored against Europa League minnows Sheriff Tiraspol.

He went on to score against West Ham United in the Premier League and Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

The forward has since scored against Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Everton and Charlton after the World Cup break.

Difference between Rashford and Mbappe

Earlier, Sports Brief did an analysis on the key difference between Rashford and Paris Saint Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.

According to former Manchester United striker Louis Saha, Rashford and Mbappe are pretty much the same, but the fact that the Frenchman has a World Cup under his belt gave him an edge in the confidence department.

"Mbappe is the trajectory, as Mbappe has won the World Cup already so his confidence has been right up." Saha observed.
