  • Fans however questioned why Neymar did not leave a comforting message for his other club teammate, Kylian Mbappe
  • Mbappe and Neymar reportedly had problems that were reported to be about their egos at the start of the season in Paris

Brazil star Neymar took to his social media accounts to congratulate his longtime friend Lionel Messi following Argentina's World Cup win in Qatar.

Neymar's message to Messi

Neymar congratulated Messi with one short message of 'Congrats Brother.' Fans were quick to note that he did not write a condoling message for Mbappe who despite his heroics was on the losing side on the night.

It should be remembered that Neymar and Mbappe had some alleged ego wars in Paris at the start of the season. The two stars were said not to see eye to eye with Mbappe reportedly advocating for Neymar's sale.

Neymar's Brazil was knocked out of the World Cup in the quarterfinal stage by Croatia despite being one of the frontrunners for the title. Had they beaten Croatia, Neymar could have faced Messi in the semifinals.

The three stars are now expected back in Paris soon as the French giants continue with their pursuit of a first-ever Champions League trophy.

PSG tweets after Argentina's win

Sports Brief has also reported that Paris Saint-Germain can boast that they have a World Cup winner and a World Cup runner-up in their squad.

The French side knew that one of their stars would return with the trophy, but they never imagined that the final would be such an epic battle between their two stars.

Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick in the game and converted a penalty in the shootout, while Lionel Messi scored two goals and also scored in the shootout.
