Manchester United summer signing Lisandro Martinez has finally opened up on why he rejected a move to Arsenal and joined the Red Devils instead.
Martinez is among an array of new players who moved to Old Trafford this summer, with the Argentine dumping Ajax to reunite with Erik ten Hag at the Theatre of Dreams.
Before his United move, Martinez had been linked with a potential transfer to the Emirates to help bolster Mikel Arteta's backline.
According to Metro UK, the Gunners pushed hard to land Martinez and had submitted multiple offers for the 24-year-old.

However, the former Ajax defender opted to complete a switch to United, with the Manchester outfit forking out €67.3 million to sign him.
Lisandro Martinez reveals why he snubbed Arsenal
Martinez has now disclosed that the choice between Man United and Arsenal was an easy one to make.
According to the centre-back, he opted to move to the red side of Manchester given the stature of the Red Devils.
"I chose ManUtd because it is the best club in the world. That is it. It was that simple for me. It is the best club in the world," Martinez was quoted by The National News.

Man United star kicked out of dressing room
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United centre-back Phil Jones has reportedly been exiled from the club's Carrington dressing room.
The Carrington dressing room is designed to accommodate no more than 24 players, with the arrival of new summer signings pushing Jones out.
United have brought in six new players this summer, including two defenders in the shape of Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez.
