Chelsea flop Tiemoue Bakayoko is finally set to depart Stamford Bridge permanently.

Bakayoko joined the Blues back in 2017 from Monaco for a huge transfer fee of £40m.

However, things did not work out for the France international with the west Londoners as he struggled to live up to his billing.

According to Metro UK, the Frenchman eventually lost his place in the team and has not played for Chelsea since the 2017/18 season.

Marseille interested in signing Tiemoue Bakayoko permanently

However, reports suggest that Marseille are keen to make his temporary stay with them permanent this summer in a move that will end the 27-year-old tumultuous career with Chelsea.

French publication Foot Mercato claims that Bakayoko is now likely to make a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge after Marseille agreed personal terms with him.

Be that as it may, it is believed that Marseille boss Igor Tudor is yet to be convinced about the transfer and would need some persuading to sign off the deal.

Meanwhile, should Marseille fail to sign Bakayoko, the central midfielder is expected not to fall short of options, with Valencia also understood to be interested in his services.

Lukaku says Chelsea move was a mistake

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Romelu Lukaku has detailed his regrets for dumping Inter Milan to reunite with Chelsea last summer.

The Belgian ace described his £97.5milion sensational transfer to Stamford Bridge last summer as 'a mistake.'

However, Lukaku was quick to admit that he is now delighted to be back with Inter Milan, albeit temporarily.
