Chelsea Record Victory Over Manchester United to Win Historic Third Successive Women’s Super League

Chelsea have won the Women’s Super League title for the third successive time on the final matchday after defeating their Manchester United counterparts 4-2, BBC Sport reports.

A brace by Sam Kerr in the second half ensured the Blues came from behind as they won the league with just one point above rivals Arsenal.

Chelsea knew victory in the encounter will give them the title, but they had to fight for the win as United went ahead in the early exchanges.

As at half-time, United led 2-1 but Kerr’s double volleys and then a strike by Reiten at the Kingsmeadow ensured the title goes to the Stamford Bridge side.

On the other hand, Arsenal Ladies defeated West Ham United 2-0 but three points for Chelsea over United means they settle for the second spot.

Chelsea now emerge with a WSL record as the only side to win the title in three consecutive seasons and Emma Hayes’ side can even make it a double this season if they record a victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final scheduled for next Sunday.

But first, Hayes will celebrate this latest victory with her family, while it provides the perfect send-off for departing trio Ji, Drew Spence and Jonna Andersson - who have all played their role in another Chelsea title-winning campaign.
