Swedish club AIK Fotboll have finally unveiled Kenyan striker Henry Atola "Meja" who they signed from Tusker FC back in September 2021.
Meja, as he is fondly known sealed a switch to AIK after impressing for the Brewers where he scored 10 goals to help them win the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title.
Sports Brief understands the youngster penned a five-year deal with the Swedish top-tier side.
And after a nearly four-month wait, the promising forward has been unveiled at AIK as he begins his journey in Europe.
AIK announced on Thursday, January 6, Meja had landed in Stockholm, Sweden, and will start training with his new side on Monday, January 10.
“Quite exactly four months later, “Meja” finally landed at Arlanda and on Thursday he got to start for the first time. acquaintance with his new home ground Friends Arena, where he was photographed in his new, black and yellow jersey with number 30 on his back," AIK said in a statement.
“A first opportunity to see Henry Atola on the football field is now on Monday when the General Premiere training is held at Skytteholms IP in Solna. The training, which has free admission, starts at 18:00. Please take the opportunity to give “Meja” and the club's other new acquisitions a warm welcome from the stands," the club added.
Speaking after his unveiling, a clearly elated Meja who will be sporting the no.30 jersey was quick to take note of the chilly Stockholm climate - but said he will adapt.

Olunga linked with Fenerbahce move
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has been linked with a stunning move to Europe with Turkish giants, Fenerbahce.
Olunga is currently plying his trade in the Middle East with Qatari outfit, Al Duhail SC, who he signed for in January 2021 after he departed Kashiwa Reysol.
