Can you list all the NHL teams, let alone list them in alphabetical order? The National Hockey League has several outstanding teams, and hockey has long been one of the best sports, especially in the northern part of the United States of America.

The National Hockey League, NHL, is a professional ice hockey league in North America. The league comprises 32 teams; 25 in the United States and 7 in Canada. Moreover, it is among the most followed and major professional sports leagues in the United States of America and Canada.

The league has been around since 1917, and it is grown into one of the most significant sports leagues in the world, with new teams being introduced more and more frequently.

Anaheim Ducks

Being the 24th team to be added to the National Hockey League, the Anaheim Ducks squad was formerly known as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. The team was founded in 1993 by Disney.

Arizona Coyotes

Formerly known as the Phoenix Coyotes, the Arizona Coyotes were once the Winnipeg Jets. It was in 1996 that the Winnipeg Jets relocated to Phoenix and hence the Phoenix coyotes.

Boston Bruins

The big bad Boston Bruins was founded in 1924 and considered an original six-team. Alongside the Montreal Maroons, the Bruins team was added to the league when there were only four teams; Montreal Canadiens, Toronto St Patricks, Ottawa Senators, and Hamilton Tigers.

Buffalo Sabres

Calgary Flames

Formerly known as the Atlanta Flames, they are based out of Alberta, Canada, and have been a part of the league since 1972, when they were added alongside the New York Islanders.

Carolina Hurricanes

They are a professional ice hockey team based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The franchise was formed in 1971 as the New England Whalers of the World Hockey Association, WHA. It was not until 1997, when the Hartford Whalers were relocated to North Carolina that they became Carolina Hurricanes.

Originally known as the Quebec Nordiques, the Colorado Avalanche was a World Hockey Association, WHA team member. It officially joined the league in 1979 after the two leagues merged.

The New Jersey Devils started as the Kansas City Scouts in 1974. Two years later, the scouts were promptly moved from Kansas to Denver, where they would be known as the Colorado Rockies. Six years later, the franchise moved to their final home in New Jersey, where they became the New Jersey Devils in 1982.

The franchise started as one of the founding franchises of the World Hockey Association before joining the National Hockey League. In 1996, the team was moved to Phoenix, becoming the Phoenix Coyotes. However, in 2011 a new Winnipeg Jets was founded when the Atlanta Thrashers were relocated to Winnipeg.
