Messi's goal and assist vs. Colorado Rapids

Messi returned with a bang after missing Inter Miami's first game in April due to injury, scoring a goal in the Herons' 2-2 draw with Colorado in the MLS regular season.

The Argentine star made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, scoring the equalizing goal for Inter Miami in the 58th minute, per ESPN.

Leonardo Afonso made it 2-1 for the Herons a couple of minutes later with Messi providing the assist. Their joy was short-lived, though, as Cole Bassett earned the Rapids a point with a goal in the 88th minute.

Messi's goal and assist vs. Kansas City

Messi loves playing in front of a huge crowd, and he proved that again in the game against Sporting Kansas City. He put on a show at a jampacked Arrowhead Stadium, recording a goal and an assist in Inter Miami's 3-2 win.

A record 73,000 fans saw the football icon unleash a 25-yard strike in the 51st minute to give the Herons a 2-1 lead. He also assisted Diego Gomez's leveller in the 18th minute, which contributed to Inter Miami's first goal.

Erik Thommy scored an equalizer for Kansas City in the 58th minute, but Luis Suarez made sure Inter Miami had the last laugh. He netted the match-winner in the 71st minute after a defensive mishap from Sporting KC.

Messi scores twice against Nashville

Messi continued his scorching start to the season against Nashville on April 21, netting a brace in Inter Miami's 3-1 victory.

He inspired the Herons' comeback win, as they trailed after scoring an own goal in the second minute.

Messi equalized for Inter Miami in the 11th minute, finding the back of the net after a goalmouth scramble. He then turned provider minutes before the half-time break, with Sergio Busquets heading in the Argentine star's corner kick.

Messi then sealed Inter Miami's second straight win, scoring another goal in the 81st minute via a penalty.

Messi scores brace against New England

Messi led Inter Miami to victory against New England on the road, scoring twice in their 4-1 win last Saturday.

He scored his eighth goal of the season in the 32nd minute, finishing with ease at the near post after he was played into the box, per CBS Sports.

He doubled his tally in the 67th minute, netting another close-range strike to grab the lead in the Golden Boot race.

He also set up Luis Suarez's goal in the 88th minute for his seventh assist of the season.

Messi breaks Ronaldo's scoring record
