Adebayo Akinfenwa is set to make his professional debut in wrestling after retiring from football last season.
Akinfenwa left football, having made a name for himself as the strongest man in his game due to his bulky nature. He played as a striker for many clubs and his last bow came at Wycombe Wanderers, where they lost the League One Play-Off match against Sunderland.
Talksport now reports that Akinfenwa is set to make his debut on October 23rd when he joins British wrestler Anthony Ogogo for his fight against Mailk.
The 40-year-old striker built a name for himself with his charming interviews and personality. He is most famously remembered for the interview he did after securing championship football for the first time in 2020.

Akinfenwa is ready for new experiences
A self-confessed fan of Liverpool, Akinfenwa asked Jurgen Klopp to call him up so that they could celebrate together. Klopp granted the request and congratulated the striker.
Speaking on his switch of careers, the retired striker said:
"I was always asked when I was coming to retirement what I was looking to do and the response was always new experiences. I was lucky enough to do the thing I love for 22 years, but it was a profession. When you retire, it's just freedom and experiences," as quoted by Marca.
