The Chicago native took on Jon Moxley for the AEW Heavyweight Championship in the main event. After an all-out war, Punk won the title in front of his home crowd.

AEW hosted a press conference following the event, but that’s where Punk’s star soon fell. Instead of focusing on his historic win, Punk instead chose the moment to lambaste his fellow AEW wrestlers. Punk held nothing back as he dropped F-bombs, bashing stars like Adam Page, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.

No. After his verbal tirade, Punk went backstage, where he was confronted by the Young Bucks and Omega. The trio, who had earlier won the Trios Titles at the pay-per-view, confronted Punk after what he said. The group were then involved in a backstage brawl involving other wrestlers and producers.

Punk was stripped of the World Heavyweight Title, while Omega and the Bucks were stripped of the Trios Titles. All the wrestlers involved were also suspended.

AEW CEO Tony Khan has yet to confirm whether Punk will be fired, but more details are expected to be released soon about the state of all those involved.
