The WWE and UFC collaborations keep coming.

The two combat organisations belong to the same company, and in recent times, WWE stars have attended UFC events and vice versa.

The collaboration will reach new levels when a WWE star will be in the corner of a UFC fighter this weekend at UFC 303. The UFC Light Heavyweight title bout between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka will headline the marquee MMA event.

UFC 303 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada on June 29.

Tsuruya recently earned a UFC contract and will take on Carlos Hernandez in his first fight.

Why Nakamura will be involved

While many know the King of Strong Style as a former Royal Rumble winner, not many know that he also competed in mixed martial arts.

SportsKeeda noted that the WWE star was a rising prospect in MMA long before he signed with the WWE.

He made his debut in the sport at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2002, where he suffered the only loss of his career to Daniel Gracie.

Nakamura then fought four times more, picking up three wins, while the other fight ended in a no-contest.

His last taste of MMA action came in 2004 when he defeated Alexey Ignashov via submission in the second round of their bout at K-1 Romanex.
