The Independent noted that McGregor, who is known for his trash-talking, has promised not to go to that level anymore as he prepares for a fight against Michael Chandler.

“I don’t think I’ll go to that level [of animosity] again. It doesn’t serve a purpose, it doesn’t serve me well. You remain cold to the situation, you remain emotionless,” he said.

His comments come after he recently targeted a host of fighters.

Sports Brief looks at the five fighters the Irishman recently insulted.

Fighters McGregor has insulted recently

Khabib Nurmagomedov

McGregor does not like Nurmagomedov, and he’s made no attempt to hide it.

The duo may have only fought once in the UFC, but their rivalry has lasted for years.

McGregor has often taken cheap shots at the Russian fighter and did once more when he learned Nurmagomedov may be in trouble with tax issues.

McGregor labelled his former opponent a ‘rat’ and said he welcomes Nurmagomedov’s return to the fight game.

Ilia Topuria

As a former Featherweight champion, McGregor still monitors the division and doesn’t think highly of the current title holder.

As reported by Championship Rounds on X (formerly Twitter), McGregor described Topuria as a non-champion.

Ryan Garcia

It’s not just MMA fighters that McGregor recently picked apart.

He also blasted boxer Ryan Garcia after his victory over Devin Haney.

KingRy beat the WBC Super Lightweight champion but was later found to have tested positive for a banned substance.

McGregor demanded that Garica be given a lifetime ban, saying that he was disgusted by the news.

Sean O’Malley

The UFC’s Bantamweight was also the victim of a verbal assault by the Irishman, but he has since apologised for it.

While discussing Garcia’s recent positive test, McGregor picked on Suga Sean, who tested positive for the same substance in 2019.

The Notorious has since explained that O’Malley was caught in the crosshairs of his tirade against the boxer.

He also added that the Bantamweight champion was a good friend who was always nice to him.

Kamaru Usman

McGregor will return to the UFC in a Welterweight bout and hinted that he could challenge for the belt if he beats Chandler.

According to former champion Usman, McGregor had previously been offered a chance to compete in the division but turned it down.

The Nigerian explained that he gave the Irishman two title shots but that McGregor turned it down.

LowKickMMA reported that Usman set the record straight after the Notorious picked on him, saying that the former champ was ‘nothing to him’.

McGregor wants title named after him

Sports Brief previously reported that McGregor urged the UFC to create a special title named after him ahead of his UFC return.

The Irishman will face Chandler at UFC 303, having last competed in the organisation in 2021 when he lost to Dustin Poirier.

McGregor will contest the bout at Welterweight and admitted that he would be interested in fighting for the division's title.
