Israel Adesanya's manager, Eugene Bareman, has disclosed that the Nigerian-born fighter could take on Dricus Du Plessis in April.

It was gathered that Adesanya is already in training as he believes the battle against Du Plessis could be on the cards at UFC 300, Punch reports.

He is said to be preparing for the showdown, hoping to not disappoint his fans in one of the biggest events.

Recall that the former two-time middleweight champion tore his MCL about two weeks before his win over Alex Pereira at UFC 287 in April 2023.

He then returned to the Octagon at UFC 293 in September, where he lost the middleweight title to Sean Strickland in a unanimous decision loss.

However, there are concerns over Adesanya's knee injury, and it t is unclear if Adesanya has been working on it or something else since then, but Bareman’s comments suggest he is open to being a significant part of the UFC 300 card.

Du Plessis calls out Adesanya

Sports Brief earlier reported that the two middleweights, who hail from Africa, have been on a collision course for a long time before The Last Stylebender lost his title to Sean Strickland.

While he joked about Alex Pereira being at the cage side, there was only one man he wanted to face. The duo were due to face each other at UFC 293, but du Plessis had to pull out of a scheduled bout due to injury.

The Last Stylebender has been spotted training after rumours started swirling that he could step up in weight class to take on Alex Pereira.
