As noted by IOL, Strickland claimed the title when he beat Israel Adesanya in the main event.

Strickland won via unanimous decision, as he outperformed the Nigerian-born Kiwi over five rounds.

A hugely entertaining character, Strickland left fans in stitches when he took to social media to admit that he had already broken the belt.

In a video that has since gone viral, Strickland shows off the damage to the belt before attempting to fix it. The American fighter can next be seen grabbing duct tape and attempting to patch up the damaged area.

While the video itself was hilarious, fans couldn’t help but notice the wall in the background.

A host of guns and ammunition could be seen in the background of the video, leaving many fans to focus on that instead.

“That's exactly what I expected his house to look like🤣,” said @YRNSwazyy.
@dkpapin chipped in “Casual 15-20k in guns mounted to his wall 💀💀.”

Much like the rest of the MMA fans around the world, du Plessis was shocked by the result, especially as he was next in line to face the Nigerian-born Kiwi, Sports Brief reported.
