Israel Adesanya remains in high spirits despite his defeat at UFC 293.
The Nigerian-born Kiwi took on America’s Sean Strickland in the main event for the Middleweight title.
Despite going in as the favourite, Adesanya failed to find his range against Strickland and came off second best in many of the exchanges.
As noted by DAZN, Strickland shocked the world as he won the fight by unanimous decision and became the new champion in the process.
The Last Stylebender didn’t stick around in the Octagon after the fight to share his thoughts but has since broken his silence. Taking to social media after the event, Izzy posted a video to address the loss.
The Last Stylebender, who was in a vehicle with family, showed off some of the damage he sustained during the fight, updating his fans on his condition.
He said that while he hated losing, he loved living, and he was thriving. Izzy that he would address the people at a later stage, but that he had to put himself first now.
The loss was Adesanya’s second in just three fights. Strickland’s knockdown of him in round one was also the first time he had been knocked down in his UFC career.
