There’s no denying that Rey Mysterio is a superstar in and out of the wrestling ring.
The WWE superstar attracts attention wherever he goes, even if it’s other combat sports.
That was evident when the master of the 619 got a huge pop when he was spotted at UFC 290 in Las Vegas.
Mysterio was in attendance to support two fellow Mexican stars, Yair Rodriguez and Brandon Moreno. Unfortunately for the Hall of Famer, both Mexicans lost.
As noted by MMA Fighting, Rodriguez was beaten by Alexander Volkanovski in the main event for the Featherweight title, while Moreno lost his Flyweight title to Brazil’s Alexandre Pantoja.
While Rey’s experience may not have ended as he hoped, it may not be his last. With the UFC and WWE now owned by the same company, more fighters from either company could be spotted at the other’s events.
Mysterio and Moreno spotted together
UFC 290 wasn’t the only time Moreno and Mysterio were spotted together.
The duo were spotted in Mexico City recently to watch the San Diego Padres face the San Francisco Giants.
Volkanovski defends against Rodriguez
Alexander Volkanovski reminded everybody that he is still the king of the 145-pound division.
The Australian star returned to the featherweight division with a bang, beating Yair Rodriguez via TKO in their UFC title unification bout at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday.
He has now won his last 11 featherweight contests in the UFC, the longest active streak in the division, Sports Brief reported.
