Conor McGregor will finally return to action in the Octagon.
The Notorious will take on fellow The Ultimate Fighter coach, Michael Chandler, and a date for that bout has now been set.
As noted by The Mirror, Mystic Mac will face Chandler at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The duo will fight at UFC 296, which is scheduled to take place nine days before Christmas.
The Notorious has not fought since July 2021, when he took on Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier.

NBAAs noted by the Evening Standard, Poirier was declared the match winner after McGregor broke his leg during the fight. The bout had to be waved off at the end of the first round, and The Diamond picked up the win in their trilogy.
The announcement of the date means that The Notorious will now have to return to USADA’s testing pool.
McGregor hasn't submitted a test since 2021 but will have to be tested for six months before his next fight to ensure he is not taking any illegal substances.
The Irishman also played down the rivalry between him and Chandler while filming The Ultimate Fighter.
"I don't mind Michael at all, don't mind the team, the lads. There was a bit of hostility at one stage, but for the most part, it's been a lot of good fun and happy days,” he explained.
