Cameron Saaiman remains undefeated in his professional MMA career.
South Africa’s Saaiman took on United States of America’s Mana Martinez in a Bantamweight bout in the early prelims of UFC 285.
The first round saw both fighters land some good shots as they set the pace. Saaiman connected with some beautiful kicks, but sadly two of those landed below the belt.
The South African had a point docked but still finished the fight strong. Martinez did get a few blows on, one of which drew blood from Saaiman.

Round 2
The second round saw both fighters trade more bombs. Saaiman landed beautiful kicks while Martinez countered back with punches.
Saaiman then landed a punch of his own, dropping Martinez with a beautiful jab. He then got ground control and landed a few blows from the top, but Martinez did well to limit the damage he took.
Round 3
The third round was high action from the start as well until Saaiman accidentally landed an eye poke. After a break to recover from the effects of the illegal blow, Martinez agreed to continue and both fighters looked to land big to finish the fight before it went to the judges' scorecard. Saaiman managed to gain ground control for the last two minutes of the final round, landing some big blows.
The fight did go to the judges’ card and Saaiman was declared the winner as the three judges scored the fight 29-26, 28-27 and 28-28. He is now 8-0 in his professional career and only 22.

South Africa's Middleweight prospect, Dricus du Plessis, watched the fight from backstage, cheering his protege on. Du Plessis was preparing for his fight against Derek Brunson on the preliminary card.
Saaiman is the third current South African fighter in the UFC, following in the footsteps of CIT teammate, Dricus du Plessis and fellow countryman, JP Buys.
MSP has only fought once in the UFC prior to the Martinez bout and was ranked 69th in the Bantamweight division.
After his impressive showing in Dana White’s Contender Series, Saaiman was given the nickname The Future by UFC president Dana White, ESPN reported.
Saaiman wants UFC in Africa
Cameron Saaiman would love to see South Africa host a UFC pay-per-view.
The South African MMA fighter made the admission during the post-match press conference after UFC 282.
Saaiman debuted on the card in Las Vegas, stopping Steven Koslow in the third round, winning the fight by TKO, Sports Brief reported.
