Novak Djokovic has high praise for Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham. The pair met for the second time at the Laureus World awards gala in Madrid this week.

Bellingham signed for Madrid in the summer from German club Borussia Dortmund and has been an instant success, proving why the club paid £88 million for him.

He has scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 games this season. He has won the Spanish Super Cup and is on course to win the La Liga title.

Per Goal, he is the favourite to win the 2024 Ballon d'Or ahead of incoming Madrid teammate Kylian Mbappe and England national team star Harry Kane.

Djokovic praises Jude Bellingham

Djokovic and Bellingham were winners at the Laureus World Sports award, and the 24-time Grand Slam champion spoke highly of the midfielder, picking out his greatest attribute.

“I was with him yesterday, and I congratulated him on what he is doing at a young age,” he said via Sportskeeda.
“I think his greatest asset is his humility. He seems like a really good person, someone who respects sport, Real Madrid, and the whole world. I think these are the values that children can identify with.”

The 20-year-old attended the event after scoring a late winner for Madrid in their 3-2 El Clasico win over Barcelona. He met some of his sporting idols and shared his delight on Instagram.

He will aim to win the league title and the UEFA Champions League ahead of a busy summer, during which he will represent England at Euro 2024 in Germany.
