  • Belarusian tennis star, Aryna Sabalenka recently went viral after a video of her juggling a football emerged online
  • Sabalenka recently claimed the Number 1 spot in the Women’s tennis rankings (WTA)
  • Her ‘hidden’ football skills were so impressive that a legendary Brazilian footballer applauded her on social media

Tennis star, Aryna Sabalenka recently showed that her talents go beyond the court, after she showed some impressive skills with a football.

After a great 2023 season, the Belarusian star was ranked the World Number One in the women's tennis rankings. Her feat came on the back of a runner-up finish at the US Open in September.

She won the Australia Open in January but emerged second to Coco Gauff in the US Open final.

Away from tennis, it seems the 25-year-old has other hobbies still revolving around sports.

She recently shared a video on her social media showing her performing kick-ups with impressive composure.

While kick-ups are one of the most basic skills of football for anyone familiar with the sport, it was still impressive to see Sabalenka perform hers almost to perfection.

As a matter of fact, her short performance attracted one of football’s GOATS, Ronaldo Nazario, who snuck in clapping emojis in the comments section.

Ronaldo is regarded as one of the greatest number 9s in football history, as highlights of his playing career involved scoring for fun for teams like Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

What next for Sabalenka?

Meanwhile, Sabalenka will now shift her focus to 2024 to prove to herself and the world that she is a force to reckon with in the tennis world.

Former tennis star, Alex Corretja recently pointed out that the difference between success and failure for Sabalenka will boil down to consistency.

"The important thing in the end is you’ve the consistency the whole year that then you’re capable to be as good as you can in the moments that are more important,” he said, as quoted on Sportskeeda.
“If they’re the Slams, if they’re the Masters 1000 or year-end championship, then you need to be ready and give your best," the 1998 ATP Finals winner opined.

Coco Gauff says she is debt-free

Sports Brief also reported on Coco Gauff’s hilarious debt comment in September after the young tennis star became the Grand Slam champion.

She secured her maiden Grand Slam title after sinking Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open final in what was an incredible feat for the 19-year-old.

Her win meant she became the first American teenager to win the Grand Slam since Serena Williams, who did so back in 1999.
