Naomi Osaka confirmed her motherhood after sharing a photo of her baby on social media with a nice little message that suggested she had been busy with her.

Osaka and his rapper boyfriend Cordae, who had been dating since 2019, welcomed their first baby, a girl, together as first-time parents.

She first spoke about her pregnancy in January and last month announced she was expecting a baby girl during a princess-themed baby shower where his boyfriend kissed her baby bump.

People exclusively confirmed the arrival of the baby on July 7 and claimed that, according to a source, both mother and child were doing well.

According to Yahoo Sports, Cordae confirmed the news and revealed the baby's name, Shai, during a concert in Canada. The name is of Hebrew origin and means gift.

“My daughter Shai was just born a couple of days ago, so I dedicate this performance to my baby girl Shai. Love you; I’m going back home,” he said.

Osaka posts first baby picture

The four-time Grand Slam champion shared the baby's first picture on her social media yesterday, alongside photos of her nursery, even though she did not reveal her face.

"Well that was a cool little intermission, now back to your regularly scheduled program," she wrote.

She withdrew from the Australian Open 2023 before announcing her pregnancy and targets a return in the same competition in 2024, months after welcoming her baby.

Sports Brief previously reported that Osaka was in tears at a press conference, her first since she was knocked out of the 2021 French Open.
