Serena Williams revealed how her daughter, Olympia received the news that she was going to be a big sister.

Williams confirmed at the start of this month that she was expecting her second child with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, when they graced the red carpet at the Met Gala.

In the video titled 'Olympia's Suprise,' the legendary tennis superstar reveals that her daughter was yet to know that she (Williams) was pregnant.

The video starts with the 23-time Grand Slam winner recalling how Olympia called her fat and complained about her mother getting overweight.

"She was like 'Mommy, you're fat'. I tried not to take it personally, but again I was like, am I?" said Williams.

She is then joined by her husband and together, they break the news to their five-year-old daughter, who immediately hugs her mother - excitement written all over her face.

"Remember how you've been praying for a little sister or brother? Well, we went to the doctor, and it turns out I'm not getting fat."

At some point, Olympia asks her mother if she is kidding her. Williams then lifts her T-shirt up and shows off her baby bump as her daughter runs away in excitement.

How Williams announced her pregnancy

Sports Brief had previously reported that Williams revealed her pregnancy to reporters as she appeared alongside her husband, Alex Ohanian, in New York. The couple's daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr, was born in 2017.

She took to Instagram to confirm the reports after Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and Met Gala's co-chair invited her to this year's event, revealing the couple was excited to be invited to the Met Gala this year.

Williams is yet to outrightly confirm her retirement from the sport, but the feeling is she will never participate in a competitive match again after opting to use the words 'evolve away from tennis' when discussing in September.
