  • Sam Cane was given a red card for a high tackle to the head on Jesse Kriel
  • South Africa had the upper hand going into halftime but the All Blacks fought with 14 men
  • The last ten minutes were played with 14 men each as Cheslin Kolbe received a yellow card

The first half of the Rugby World Cup final has been a frenetic affair.

South Africa have executed their game plan to perfection and have had the All Blacks on the back foot for much of the half.

New Zealand will play the second half after a distraught Sam Came was judged to have struck Jess Kriel's head in the tackle.

Handre Pollard has kicked 12 points while Beuden Barrett has added six for the All Blacks.

Siya Kolisi received a yellow for a similar office but upon review remained a yellow.

The Springbok intensity has been immense.

With five minutes to go the Springboks were one point ahead.

Cheslin Kolbe received a yellow card to create a nail-biting finish.

Pieter Steph du Toit was the man of the match as the Springboks maintained that lead to win a fourth Rugby World Cup

South Africa are World Champions.
