A slow first half

Despite trailing at the break, it was the Lions who opened the scoring in the game, as fullback Tiaan Swanepoel touched down in the right corner.

It would be the only points for the team in the first 40 minutes, but in the second period, they scored three tries to continue their winning streak in the competition.

The bonus point win sees the Lions climb up to third on the log, two points behind the Toyota Cheetahs and six points behind the Airlink Pumas.

The Pumas are the only unbeaten side in the competition after four games. The Lions will next take on the Cheetahs, with a chance to move up to second.

The Sharks, on the other hand, find themselves in the fourth spot, but are level on points with DHL Western Province and Windhoek Draught Griquas.

Lions are SA's last hope

The Emirates Lions will be looking to make South Africa proud as they continue in the European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) Challenge Cup.

The Johannesburg-based side moved on to the quarterfinals of the competition after beating Racing 92.

The Lions will next take on the Glasgow Warriors, a team that scored 73 points in their last game, Sports Brief earlier reported.
