  • Nicolas 'Nic' White is not the most popular man among South African rugby fans at the moment
  • Nicolas White was responsible for South Africa's Faf de Klerk being sent off in the first half of the game
  • Australia hosted South Africa in a Rugby Championship match in Adelaide, which the Aussies comfortably won

Nicolas White has a career in football or acting if it doesn’t work out for him on the rugby field.

That’s how many fans feel after White’s performance for Australia against South Africa in the Rugby Championship.

The scrumhalf came under fire for his acting skills in the first half which saw South Africa’s Faf de Klerk sent off.

De Klerk attempted to swipe the ball out of White’s hands, but lightly made contact with his face instead. Despite the slightest contact being made, White waited a few seconds before falling to his knees.

He at first attempted to grab his own neck to pretend he was hit in the throat before just sitting there too injured to move.

Some felt that White's skills were akin to football players like Neymar and Ronaldo who are known for going down under the slightest contact.

Despite the lack of contact or intent from de Klerk, he was still sent to the sin bin by the referee.

Twitter didn’t take too kindly to White’s skills and soon lambasted him online for his actions.

Here are the best reactions to the incident:

@ThatVikingguy2:

"I thought Rugby was a sport and not acting, or is Nick White playing soccer... Where is Nigel when you need him 'This is not soccer' #AUSvRSA"

@neileley:

"Watching #AUSvRSA. Aussie scrum-half Nick White gets a finger on the nose from Faf de Klerk and goes down like he has been hit by Mike Tyson. Rugby used to be a game of honour and strength - it is now a game of who can con the ref the most. Ridiculous."

@LaCWood:

"Pathetic, Nick White! You can’t get away from our try line, so you must resort to playing dirty!"

@PaulAndrewFryer:

"Shame - I hope Nick White’s mustache is ok #AUSvRSA"

Rampant Australia outplays South Africa in Adelaide to secure 25-3 victory in Rugby Championship

Australia started the game with all guns blazing when they took on South Africa in the Rugby Championship.

The Aussies were up 10-0 within the first 10 minutes of the game as Fraser McReight dived over the touchline in the second minute of the game.

The Boks played much of the latter part of the half in the Aussie half but were denied by a resilient defence and a dodgy referee call.
