Why are Chicago teams named after bears?

The Bears and Cubs share a unique history. The baseball side Cubs allowed the NFL side Bears, who were then named the Staleys, to use their stadium, Wrigley Field, in 1922. Team owner George Halas renamed the Staleys to the Bears as tribute.

Chicago's rich history and pride in its sports teams have led to undying fan support over the years. It was only fitting that we had the best Chicago teams listed to illustrate that history.
