Bagging an ace on a par five hole is rare, with only five people believed to have done the near impossible. According to the standards, a par five holes distance range between 471 to 690 yards. Most hole-in-ones are made on par three holes (up to 250 yards) because they are shorter than other categories.

Mike Crean, D. Hogan, Jack Bartlett, Larry Bruce, and Shaun Lynch are the only golfers to hit a hole-in-one in a par five hole. Bruce was the first to achieve it in 1962 in a 480-yard fifth hole at Hope C.C. in Arkansas. In 1973, Hogan's 456-yard strike went in at Piedmont Crescent Golf Course in Burlington, North Carolina State.

Another par-five ace came in 1995 when Lynch hit a 3-iron in 496 yards 17th at Teign Valley G.C. in Christow, England. In 2007, Jack Bartlett banged one on the 511-yard 17th at Royal Wentworth Falls C.C. in New South Wales before Mike Crean got the latest in 2002.

You now know who has the most hole-in-ones in history and what it takes to achieve this incredible task. Matching Norman Manley and Mancil Davis' numbers have been difficult for emerging golfers, and their records may stand for many more years.
