Kenyan Peter Mungai Warui has become the second Kenyan to win his boxing match at Rio de Janeiro in the ongoing Olympics.
Warui beat the fancied Lu Bin of China by the two points to one. The Kenyan will now face Cuban Johanys Argilagos in the quarterfinals.

On Sunday, August 7, Kenyan boxer Rayton Nduku Okwiri surprised many after defeating Russia’s welterweight London Olympics bronze medallist Andrei Zamkovoi.
The last time a Kenyan boxer won gold in the Olympics was in 1988 when the late Robert Wangila Napunyi claimed the coveted title in the Welterweight category.
Wangila was also the only African outside South Africa to win a gold medal in Boxing a record that still stands.
