The division falls under the National Football Conference (NFC), alongside the NFC North, the NFC South and the NFC West divisions. The Cowboys were founded in 1960 and had their first winning season in 1966. Jerry Jones bought the franchise in 1989 from H.R. (Bum) Bright. Dallas Cowboys became the first sports team valued at $5 billion in 2018. Their home is the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with an 80,000 capacity.

The Cowboys' colours are blue/silver. They have hosted legends like Emmitt Smith, DeMarcus Ware, Jason Witten, and Tony Romo.

The New York Giants are among the NFL's oldest teams and one of the best sports franchises in New York. It was founded in 1925 by Tim Mara, who purchased it at $500. The Giants have had seven home grounds throughout their history. They began at Polo Grounds and now play at MetLife Stadium, where they moved in 2011.

The MetLife Stadium is situated at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and has a capacity of around 82,500. John Mara and Steve Tisch have 50% ownership of the Giants. Mara inherited from his grandfather, while Steve inherited from his father, Bob Tisch, in 2005. Bob paid $80 million to Tim Mara for half of the ownership in 1991.

The Eagles were founded by Bert Bell in 1933. He bought the franchise from the bankrupt Frankford Yellow Jackets team, using money from his wife, Frances Upton, a Broadway actress. Jeffrey Lurie bought the Eagles on 6 May 1994 from Norman Braman for $195 million. Forbes valued the club at $2.65 billion in 2017, ranking them 10th among the most valuable NFL teams.

Philadelphia Eagles have had six different home grounds in their history. They began at Baker Bowl (1933-35) in Philadelphia. The Eagles moved to its current stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, in 2003. The South Philadelphia facility costs $512 million and has a capacity of around 69,000.

George Preston Marshall founded The Commanders as the Boston Braves in 1932, then changed its name to Boston Redskins from 1933 to 1936. George renamed it to Washington Redskins in 1937. The franchise rebranded to Washington Football Team in 2020 before becoming Washington Commanders in February 2022.

The Commanders play in their home ground, FedEx Field, in Summerfield, Maryland. It has a capacity of around 67,600. They initially played at Robert F. Kennedy Stadium. The NFL approved the sale of the Commanders in July 2023 from Dan Snyder to a new ownership group led by Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Josh Harris.

Are teams in the NFC East division the best in the NFL?

NFC East franchises are the most successful in the NFL. They have won 22 NFC championships and 13 Super Bowls since 1967. The Eagles won the 2022 NFC Championship but lost to Kansas City by 38-35 in the Super Bowl LVII at Arizona's State Farm Stadium on 12 February 2023.

Who will win NFC East 2023?

Many NFL experts believe the 2022 NFC East division winners, the Eagles, are favourites to retain the title ahead of their rivals. However, some vouch for the Cowboys, who have vast experience in the category. The Eagles throttled the New York Giants 38-7 in January 2023 to finish top of the NFC East standings with 0.824% and 14-3-0 (W-L-T).

The Cowboys came second with 0.706% and 12-5-0, followed by the Giants with 0.559% and 9-7-1. The Commanders were last with 0.500% and 8-8-1.
