NBAKevin Durant: Adidas Troll NBA Star After He Made Fun of Their Shoes
- Adidas and Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant have exchanged jibes on X
- Durant appeared to mock Anthy Edwards's Adidas shoes
- The veteran NBA star has been a Nike athlete since 2007
Kevin Durant seemed to have angered Adidas after he made fun of Anthony Edwards's sneakers.
The Phoenix Suns superstar, a Nike athlete, was responding to a clip of Edwards saying he wants the veteran to wear his shoes in an NBA game.
Durant recently became only the third NBA player to sign a lifetime deal with Nike, joining legends such as Michael Jordan and Los Angeles Lakers veteran LeBron James.
The clip in question shows Minnesota Timberwolves star Edwards being asked which NBA player he wants to see wear his shoes.
He named Durant but smiled in the end. Durant's response was swift and brutal.
"Won’t EVER see me put a big toe in them (expletive).".
Adidas fired back with a funny Tweet, which they have since deleted.
"U dusty bouta retire anyway."
The Adidas X handle responded again by saying, "meant to send that from the burner account..." This was another jibe at Durant, who is known to have burner accounts on the social media application.
Durant's Nike partnership
Durant has been a Nike athlete since 2007, when he joined the NBA. The partnerships has resulted in 16 signature shoes, per Boardroom.
“When I first signed with Nike, I couldn’t have dreamed of how far we’d go in this partnership. We’ve done amazing work creatively and philanthropically...I’m excited for the future and honored to be in rare company with this deal.”
Meanwhile, Edwards, who is one of the brightest young talents in the NBA, first signature shoe with Adidas, the AE1 was unveiled a few months ago.

FootballEdwards and Durant are two of the most vibrant characters in the NBA, so the exchange with Adidas on X is probably normal for Durant and Edwards.

Durant gets hyped when watching Jordan
Sports Brief earlier reported on Durant saying he always gets hyped when he rewatches Kyrie Irving and Michael Jordan's highlights. Jordan and Irving are two of the most skilled players in basketball history.
Few NBA players can finish like Irving around the rim, and his Kobe Bryant-like footwork makes his mid-range shots sublime. He can also shoot from deep, and he is reliable in traffic.
There's nothing really left to say about Michael Jordan.
