The Golden State Warriors suffered a sixth straight defeat in the NBA following a 130-123 overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chase Center.

The Warriors thought they had snatched a late win following Andrew Wiggins' three-pointer with three seconds left in nth game. However, Chase Center was silenced by a game-tying three by rookie Chet Holmgren, which sent the game into overtime.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 10 points in overtime to hand a young OKC Thunder team a massive win.

The win was painful for the Warriors, considering they had an 18-point lead midway through the third quarter. Costly turnovers from Stephen Curry and Jonathan Kuminga saw the Thunder go on a 22-6 run without a timeout called.

Curry was returning from a minor injury issue but could only score 25 points on 8-for-21 shooting, including 5-of-11 from deep. Wiggins erupted with 31 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the field, including 5-of-8 from three-point range, per NBA.

Holmgren finished with 36 and 10 rebounds on 14-of-22, while his teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 40 points on 18-of-29 shooting from the field.

The 2022 NBA champions have now lost six straight games and are 1-6 at home. They host a resurgent Houston Rockets team on Monday. Curry said they want to end the poor run.

“There’s urgency, for sure,” Curry said. “Any time you’re at this many in a row, it’s a problem you gotta fix. You don’t want to develop a losing mentality at any stretch of the season. That’s a stink in the locker room you don’t want to have,” via the Athletic.

How Warriors fans reacted to OKC defeat

Many Warriors fans were livid after their sixth straight loss. Here are some of their reactions.

@enitandev:

"This year's Home run is last year's Away run.
Still the same team. The same problems and the same coach.
It's going to be a rollercoaster" 🤣🤣🤣

@8tozay:

"We havent won in two weeks lmaooo."

@KavishSinghal_3:

"TRADE KLAY. He has one job to do and if he can’t do it for 5 consecutive games, hurts to say but can’t support him more."

@TimmyChooos:

"Can you ask Kerr why he never chooses to foul when up 3?? He ALWAYS does this."

@JazzPaulKnight:

"Klay shouldn’t be on closing lineups anymore. Some of those shots towards the end were undisciplined."

Is Curry the greatest point guard?

Sports Brief earlier reported on Magic Johnson responding to Curry, who claimed he is the best point guard ever.

They are regarded as the best point guards in NBA history, but the debate about who is the number one continues.

Johnson, who was at his peak of success in the 1980s, made his own case and listed his achievements in the sport.
