  • Giannis Antetokounmpo has been flirting with Al-Hilal on social media for a while now
  • The Saudi Pro League side have a personalised team jersey ready for the NBA superstar
  • Al-Hilal recently signed Neymar Junior from Paris Sain-Germain in a blockbuster move

Al-Hilal already have a Giannis Antetokounmpo jersey ready if the Milwaukee Bucks superstar is ready to change professions. The two-time NBA MVP has gone viral on social media for his comments about the Saudi Pro League.

When a world record bid for Kylian Mbappe was reportedly made by Al-Hilal, the 2021 NBA champion asked the Saudi Arabian side to take him instead of the Paris Saint-Germain star.

Al-Hilal recently completed the signing of Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth €90 million. The Brazilian joins a long list of high-profile players from European clubs who have moved to the league this year.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the first big star to move to Saudi Arabia. Other players like Sadio Mane, Karim Benzema, and Riyad Mahrez recently moved and most of them were probably attracted to the monstrous wages league clubs pay.

Before settling for Neymar, Al-Hilal pursued Lionel Messi, who instead decided to join Major League Soccer (MLS).

Saudi Arabia has spent at least $6.3 billion in sports deals since early 2021 through their Public Investment Fund, per the Guardian. They bought Newcastle United and launched LIV Golf, causing a major disruption in the game.

Antetokounmpo to Al-Hilal

The Greek star is among the highest-paid players in the NBA, but his salary is small compared to what Al-Hilal pays global stars like Neymar.

After announcing the winger's transfer, Al-Hilal released photos on social media of Antetonkounmpo's jersey with the No. 34 on the back - the same number he wears for the Bucks.

The NBA star responded by posting a picture of himself and Neymar together.

The prospect of a 6-foot-11 Antetokounmpo playing as a striker for Jorge Jesus' side is exciting. Anytime Neymar beats a defender on the left wing, the NBA star would bully anyone in the box in return.

The PIF could expand its portfolio and invest in a basketball league to rival the NBA someday and the Greek star would probably be the first signing.

Neymar credits Ronaldo for Saudi move

Sports Brief also reported on Neymar crediting Ronaldo for opening doors for other major football stars to move to the Saudi Arabian top flight.

The veteran shocked the world when a deal was announced that he would join Al-Nassr following an unceremonious exit from Manchester United.

Since then, Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Allan Saint-Maximin, and many more have joined the bandwagon.
