Dallas Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving has said Los Angeles Clippers point guard Russell Westbrook revolutionized basketball. Westbrook is one of the best point guards of his generation, alongside Irving.

Both players remain two of the most scrutinized players in the NBA. Irving's off-court activities have caused him problems in the last few years, while Westbrook's performances on the court have attracted harsh criticism.

Westbrook has achieved almost everything in his 15-year NBA career, with only the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy missing on his resume. No player in NBA history has more triple-doubles (198) than the 34-year-old, per Basketball Reference.

He recently re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year deal worth almost $8 million after a turbulent period in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Westbrook remains one of the most explosive players of all time, and there is no denying he is one of the NBA's all-time great point guards and one of the most productive, statistically speaking.

However, some have questioned his performances when the lights are the brightest. Analysts and fans find it hard to understand how a player can be that productive but sometimes reckless

Irving's tribute to Westbrook

The Mavericks star took to Instagram to give Westbrook his flowers. He posted a video of some Westbrook highlights with a lovely tribute to the former Oklahoma City Thunder star, via SI.

“Let’s not pretend this Dude right here didn’t revolutionize the Game and inspire all of us to do things YOUR way and say (expletive) em ALL,” Irving wrote on his Instagram story.

Westbrook has left his mark in the NBA and is definitely a first-ballot Hall of Famer. An NBA championship will cap off a brilliant career.

George wants Westbrook to win

Sports Brief earlier reported on Paul George saying he wants Westbrook to win an NBA title. Despite winning the 2017 MVP award, Westbrook's career has spiraled.

After leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2019, the nine-time All-Star is now playing for his fourth team in as many years.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 2023 All-Star weekend, George praised his former teammate and said he would love to see him win the NBA title.
