The Milwaukee Bucks player, who was born to Nigerian parents in Greece, took the opportunity to visit the West African nation as he traces back to his lineage.
Antetokounmpo also engaged aspiring basketball players in Lagos, giving them lessons on the basics of becoming an NBA star.
The 2021 NBA champion shared his excitement on social media as he spends family time with his mother in Nigeria.
"Finally made it to Nigeria with mama," wrote the NBA player.
The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player is an inspiration to many across the continent of Africa, with his story an example of determination and perseverance.
He is expected to return to the United States in few weeks time to begin preparations ahead of the 2023 NBA season.

Antetokou8nmpo is in the offseason and is reportedly visiting the country where his father and mother were born.
In videos that have gone viral online, the 28-year-old was seen playing basketball with the kids at the camp and even sitting down and having a chat with them. Hundreds of fans surrounded the court to watch arguably the best player in the world, according to Philip Braide.
