LeBron James has broken his silence after his oldest son, Bronny James, suffered a cardiac arrest in practice on Monday. The sports world came together in support of the 18-year-old.
Bronny was rushed to hospital following the scary incident, which occurred in practice at USC.
Fortunately, he was in stable condition after he was taken to the hospital, according to the family statement. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed through a spokesperson that it responded to a medical emergency involving an "adult male" at 9:26 a.m. PT on Monday and sent paramedics.
Cardiac arrest is when the heart stops beating suddenly. The lack of blood flow to the brain and other organs can cause a person to lose consciousness, become disabled, or die if not treated immediately, per Johns Hopkins Medicine.

James on playing with Bronny
James recently revealed his ambition to play with Bronny when he joins the NBA. However, his future in the sport is up in the air following the latest incident.
He is not eligible to play in the NBA until 2024/25 under the rules of the current collective bargaining agreement. LeBron added that his son will have to work hard to make it to the NBA, as Sports Brief earlier reported.
Waiting for his son to play with him in the NBA would require the four-time champion to continue playing until his 22nd NBA season, which would tie him with Vince Carter for the most in league history.
