Recently, Los Angeles Lakers veteran LeBron James was in North Augusta, S.C. coaching his son Bryce’s 16U basketball team at the prestigious Nike EYBL Peach Jam tournament. He teamed up with his former Lakers teammate Rajon Rondo on the sidelines.

James said several times he would love to play with his eldest son Bronny James in the NBA but backtracked those comments, saying this one will follow his own basketball journey, wherever it takes him.

The team, coached by James and Rajon Rondo, went 3-1 at the tournament but failed to advance out of pool play because of point differential. The team’s final game was an entertaining 67-66 comeback win in overtime against NH Lightning.

Despite the premature exit, the veteran NBA star stole the show as the coach. He was captured on video pointing, shouting, arguing with officials, and jumping up and down the sidelines, making the game even more entertaining, per SI.

16-year-old Bryce is a 2025 prospect, while Bronny is expected to join the NBA in 2024, and LeBron will be 40 years old.

Bryce James to leaves Sierra Canyon

According to ESPN, Bryce will transfer from Sierra Canyon High School to Campbell Hall. The 6-foot-6 prospect played last season at Sierra Canyon alongside his brother, Bronny, who committed to USC in May.

Campbell Hall is 19 miles from his former high school, and ESPN adds James and his family made a huge contribution to the school for a new multimillion-dollar athletic facility.

James wants to play with Bronny

Sports Brief earlier reported on James revealing his ambition to play with his son when he joins the NBA.

Bronny is not eligible to play in the NBA until the 2024/25 season under the rules of the current collective bargaining agreement. He added that his son will have to work hard to make it to the NBA.

Waiting for his son to play with him in the NBA would require the four-time champion to continue playing until his 22nd NBA season, which would tie Vince Carter for the most in league history.
