Larry Bird is one of the greatest players in NBA history. The Boston Celtics icon is a three-time NBA champion and a 12-time All-Star.

NBA legend Dennis Rodman thinks Bird wouldn't hang in the NBA if he played today. The Worm is certainly not afraid to speak his mind.

Bird and Rodamn faced each other in the 1980s. According to Boston.com, the Worm was a rookie in 1986 when Bird won his final MVP award. Rodman's Detroit Pistons beat the Celtics in three of the four playoff series they faced each other between 1988 and 1991.

When Rodman was with the Bulls, they never met the Celtics in the postseason. Furthermore, Rodman has five NBA rings, while Bird has three.

Still, Bird was the star of the team, the franchise player. Rodman was a role player, often supporting the likes of Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan.

Rodman disses Bird

Rodman made the controversial comment during an interview with VladTV.

“If Larry Bird played in this era, I think he’d be [playing overseas] in Europe. I’m just letting you know man,” Rodman said. “He’d be somewhere over there. His game was fit for Boston at that time in the 80s and stuff like that, but in today’s world, ‘oh hell no’ there’s no way. I’m not downplaying him because he was a great player at that time, like I was but I’m saying there’s no way,” via USA Today.

To add to that, the Worm said Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is better than Bird.

"I think the kid from Denver is way better than (Bird)," Rodman said. "Oh my God, he's slow as hell. He plays slow, but that guy got a game. I think he's better than Larry Bird."

Bird retired with nine All-NBA first-team selections. Rodman never made the All-NBA first team, but he was a seven-time first-team All-Defensive selection. Bird is known for his shooting prowess and basketball IQ, per NBC Sports.

When Rodman met Kim Jong Un

Sports Brief earlier reported when Rodamn went to North Korea to meet their leader Kim Jong Un.

The six-foot-eight-inch former Chicago Bull made his first of three trips to Pyongyang in 2013 and was not only embraced by the people but also sat down with the young leader.

The 62-year-old flew from Beijing, China to Pyongyang in February 2013.
