Victor Wembanyama has been the talk of the town following the hugely anticipated 2023 NBA Draft. The San Antonio Spurs selected the young Frenchman with the No. 1 pick.

He was recently asked which all-time NBA starting five he would choose to save the planet. He selected a potent line-up that would definitely put up a good fight if Martians invaded Earth.

The 19-year-old is regarded as the best prospect in the history of the NBA, and although he hasn't played a single minute in the league, some are predicting that he will be one of the greatest players of all time.

The Spurs are getting a player that can shoot, handle the ball, pass, and defend. They are hoping he will rejuvenate the franchise that has slid into oblivion in recent years after decades of success. He is a franchise changer, per the Athletic.

Wembanyama starting five

At the 2023 NBA Draft, For The Win asked the 7-foot-4 big man which five-man lineup he would choose in a game that would decide the fate of the universe.

He picked a perfect team: Stephen Curry, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, and Shaquille O'Neal. Curry brings excellent shooting, while O'Neal and Duncan bring physicality and elite defense.

Jordan and James would be unstoppable. Wemnbanyama's lineup has no weaknesses.

Wembanyama lands in San Antonio

Sports Brief earlier reported on Wembanyama receiving a hero's welcome in San Antonio.

On a scorching day, passionate Spurs fans braved the heat to embrace their new superstar.

As he emerged from the plane, he was met with loud cheers from the fans, who were equipped with parasols and huge signs. He strolled to the fence and signed a few autographs.

The Frenchman later had dinner with San Antonio Spurs icons Tim Duncan, David Robinson, and Manu Ginobili. He revealed the three legends taught him a lot.
