Wembanyama is the Spurs' third No. 1 overall pick like Robinson and Duncan, and he has huge expectations from fans who are hoping he can rejuvenate their franchise that has been in the wilderness in the last few years. Wemy reflects on dinner

The 19-year-old had dinner with the franchise icons and says it gave him an opportunity to learn.

"Probably in a couple hours, I learned more about the NBA than my whole life before that," Wembanyama said. "It's so comforting to see these people who are so important to the city of San Antonio and the franchise are such great people and generous. They genuinely wanted to share their experience. I feel like they've already started to take great care of me. It's so important to be in a position where it's so comfortable," via ESPN.

Wembanyama and his compatriot Sidy Cissoko, who was taken No. 44 overall as the Spurs' only other draft pick, were introduced to the San Antonio fans. They then took pictures in their new jerseys before being introduced by Spurs general manager Brian Wright.

How much will Wembanyama make?

Sports Brief earlier broke down Wembanyama's potential salary for the 2023/24 season. He is expected to earn as much as $12.2 million in his first season.

Based on salary cap projections ($136 million), the young French phenom's on-court earnings could be as much as $55.2 million over the next four years.

Wembanyama could make way more from his off-court deals. He is a Nike athlete and could add a few endorsement deals ahead of his rookie season.
