  • Miller is a top 3 prospect in the 2023 NBA Draft
  • Jordan and James are names brought up in almost every GOAT debate

The NBA GOAT debate is a touchy subject for many fans. The debate, which often revolves around LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan, always gets heated.

Brandon Miller recently shocked many fans by calling Los Angeles Clippers star, Paul George his GOAT, a comment which elicited mixed reactions from NBA fans.

While speaking to the media ahead of the 2023 NBA Draft, Miller was asked about the GOAT debate. He dismissed those debates, saying they don't worry him since George is his GOAT.

"No, because I actually don't think LeBron is the GOAT of basketball," Miller said. "My GOAT of basketball is Paul George. I grew up watching him, so it was never just LeBron," he said, via CBS Sports.

The Clippers star has had a superb career, but it is tough to find his name in GOAT conversations. The 33-year-old has played 13 NBA seasons and averaged 20.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.

George has not won an NBA title or an MVP, unlike Jordan and James, who have multiple rings and MVP awards. Moreover, George has eight All-Star selections, 11 fewer than James. He only has one All-NBA selection.

Miller probably meant his favorite player was George, but he will have a lot to explain when he meets James on the court.

James vs. Jordan debate

Jordan and James are undoubtedly the top two best players in NBA history. They have won a combined 10 NBA championships and inspired millions across the world.

Jordan dominated the NBA in the 1990s with the Chicago Bulls, while James took over this century. He went to eight straight NBA finals and recently became the NBA's all-time leading scorer, per ESPN.

Jordan led the Bulls to two three-peats, a feat that will never be replicated. James' longevity will also never be matched. He averaged nearly 30 points per game in his 20th season.

Facts and details about Miller

Sports Brief earlier looked at Miller's basketball journey so far.

He is listed as a 6-foot-9 forward with a 6-foot-11 wingspan to boot.

His size and long reach make Miller a dominant presence on the defensive end. NBA teams got to witness those talents during the draft combine, causing the forward's draft stock to rise.
