Los Angeles Lakers veteran LeBron James reportedly played with a torn tendon in his foot in the NBA playoffs.
The 20-year NBA veteran admitted the torn tendon suffered earlier in the season bothered him throughout the postseason.
James and the Lakers were swept in the Western Conference finals by the Denver Nuggets. Despite the nagging injury, the 38-year-old averaged 27.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 10 assists per game against the Nuggets. In Game 4, he scored 40 points and played all but four seconds of that game.
Overall, he averaged 24.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. He had a phenomenal regular season, putting up 28.9 points per game in 55 games, per Sporting News.
James injury problem
According to the Athletic's Shams Charania, James played the last few months with a torn tendon in his foot that could require surgery this offseason,
According to the report, the surgery could sideline him for two months in the offseason but could be ready by the start of training camp next season. The four-time NBA champion missed a month because of that injury.
"I'm going to get an MRI on it and see how the tendon either healed or not healed and go from there. We'll see what happens..."I knew I could get to the finish line," James told ESPN. "Obviously, I knew I had to deal with it and deal with the pain or deal with not being able to be myself before the injury, but there was nothing that made me feel like I couldn't get to the finish line," via ESPN.

Sports Brtief earlier reported on LeBron James hinting at retirement after the Lakers were swept in the Western Conference finals.
He has played 20 years in the NBA and turns 39 in December, leaving fans with a cryptic message which raised many questions.
"I got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just personally, with me moving forward with the game of basketball, I got a lot to think about."
