Ex-NBA star Gilbert Arenas has ruffled a few feathers by claiming the Golden State Warriors Big Three of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson is the best in NBA history.

Curry, Thompson, and Green are definitely one of the best trios in NBA history, but they face competition from other iconic teams from the past.

The trio has dominated the NBA in the last few seasons. They were all drafted by the Warriors and have won four NBA championships in eight years.

Curry, 35, was drafted by the Warriors as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. They selected Thompson with the 11th overall pick, and in the very next draft, the Warriors selected Green in 2012.

They have made nine playoff appearances and six NBA Finals appearances, including five consecutively, per the Athletic.

Arenas praises Warriors' big three

On a recent episode of his “No Chill” podcast, Arenas, who was drafted by the Warriors in 2001, said Curry, Thompson, and Green are the greatest trio of all time, per NBC Sports.

“This is a Big Three,” he said. “And this Big Three can really challenge any other Big Three and say, ‘We are the best Big Three ever,’ and it's going to be hard for another Big Three to say, ‘Nah, you're not as dominant as us.’

He mentioned the Boston Celtics Big Three, saying they could challenge the Warriors trio.

“Because even though we're looking at Draymond's production, how he produces does not factor into points and rebounds -- it doesn't. You can't calculate what Draymond does. So when you add this three and you say alright who's going to compete in the best Big Three ever? I mean now you're going all the way back to a Boston Big Three.”

Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, and Larry Bird dominated the league in the 1980s. They won three NBA titles together.

Arenas says Curry is not revolutionary

Sports Brief earlier reported on Arenas saying Curry did not revolutionize basketball.

Arenas said the Warriors system implemented by Steve Kerr allowed Curry to become the player he is today. The 35-year-old is the all-time leader in three-pointers made in the NBA with 3390.

"Steph Curry didn't change the game. The Warriors changed the game."
